Members of our Engineering Team have been regular recent visitors to the Wrightbus headquarters in Ballymena, Northern Ireland. Over this period, we have installed CameraMatics systems on 162 buses as they have been built on the production line. From their very first journey, the buses will benefit from the full protection that CameraMatics systems offer – improving the safety of drivers, passengers, and other road users. The new buses will be in service across Rotala's operations: Hallmark, Preston Bus, Diamond and Hotel Hoppa.
In total as part of this run, over 2,500 pieces of hardware have been fitted as the buses were being produced. Each double-decker bus now benefits from a 15-camera configuration, providing full visibility for the driver and improved safety for passengers and road users. These new vehicles are in addition to over one hundred CameraMatics enhanced Rotala buses already in service across the UK.
The camera configuration on each bus comprises a forward camera, five external cameras (one on each corner and a reverse camera), four cameras on each deck monitoring all areas including stairs, and a camera covering the internal front of the bus including the front door.
We’re proud of all the members of our amazing team at CameraMatics, and none more so than our expert engineers. The Engineering Team are our brand ambassadors, representing us and serving our customers daily - and of course getting their hands dirty.
Electrical Auto Engineers by training, the whole team are highly experienced and used to working with a whole range of commercial vehicles.
