Road safety is a global challenge. With ZERO, we can all play our part

ZERO gives your employees, and their own friends and families, the ability to become safer drivers. By doing so, your business can play its part of reducing deaths on our roads, and help your extended team stay safe.

Imagine a world with zero deaths on our roads. Better yet, imagine a world with zero deaths OR serious injuries on our roads.

Sounds implausible? Some people aren’t willing to accept that it isn’t possible. And at CameraMatics, we’re proud to be in that group. We are enthusiastic supporters of Vision ZERO, Our technology helps those who drive for a living do so as safely as possible. And with the launch of CameraMatics ZERO, we are giving every company and every individual the change to also play their part.

Taking the final step

Look at the graph of road deaths in the UK from 1969 until 2020. I challenge anybody to claim that pushing that number right down to zero, or close to zero, is not possible. We’ve come a long way, and it is time to take the final step.

Governments and manufacturers have a huge part to play in that of course. But so does each and every one of us. We built ZERO to give people the insight and the guidance they need to drive safely and save lives. Their own, the lives of their friends and families, and those in the wider community.

Most of us know why accidents happen. But that doesn’t stop us driving dangerously, even if only occasionally. Between near misses, unexpected delays and the growing sense of frustration behind the wheel, it’s not surprising that many drivers lose focus.

That’s where ZERO steps in.

What does ZERO do?

ZERO is a driving assistant in your pocket.

In simple terms, it monitors driving and scans continuously for risk factors and dangerous behaviours. It then summarises what it has learned and scores the driver across a variety of criteria (aggression, anticipation, speed) and gives the driver an overall Driver Score.

By doing so, it provides constructive feedback and actionable insight on how we can improve, and how we compare to the ‘average’ driver on the road.

Better again, it logs every incident of harsh braking, harsh acceleration, and speeding, and lets the driver see precisely why the score looks the way it does – by drilling into those incidents as required.

And when we understand what dangerous or risky driving looks like, we can act to stop it – and deliver Vision ZERO.

How your organisation can get involved

Safe driving starts at home. But the workplace – or any other large organisation that our hypothetical driver belongs to – isn’t a bad place to start either.

ZERO is the perfect way for any such organisation to demonstrate its commitment to tackling death and serious injury on the road, and at the same time help to protect both its own team members and their friends and family in turn. With limited data sharing turned on*, safe driving can even be gamified across the organisation, or parents can check on children.

It’s simple really. Making ZERO available to your employees or members is just a quick, easy and smart way to really make a difference to a topic that we know people care about. If you’d like to talk to us about making that happen, contact us here

*the lack of default data sharing is one thing people love about ZERO, but when you DO share data then some great things can happen.
